Celebrating the role of Pharmacists on National Pharmacist's Day

PharmaGuard celebrates National Pharmacist’s Day.

“January 12th is National Pharmacist’s Day in America. A day to remember how important pharmacists are in our healthcare systems and the vital role that they play in not only dispensing prescriptions to patients, but also providing information and healthcare services, such as vaccinations.

Although neither of us are pharmacists we have both worked closely with this sector of healthcare.

Jackie’s PhD was in pharmacology – a related discipline but not the same. Over the course of her long career she  has had the pleasure of working with many excellent pharmacists at the MHRA, in industry and in consulting.

Lisa spent almost 14 years as a Pharmacy Technician working in the NHS across a broad range of hospitals, enabling her to work with many talented and dedicated pharmacists, technicians and ancillary staff. Within industry she has witnessed the same commitment to patient safety from those pharmacists not providing direct patient care.

We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate all the hardworking pharmacists both in industry, the regulators, retail and hospital, you all play a vital role in our healthcare system and thank you all.”
